We will be at a primary school in Durban, South Africa, working with students on HIV education . In order to thank them for giving us their time and allowing us into their space, we want to raise funds for new uniforms.
The Pedagogy of Action uses an empowerment based model to teach others about HIV and AIDS. In May, our group of 13 students and over 10 program alumni will travel to South Africa to work with various community organizations and schools, and to learn about the HIV epidemic in South Africa.
One such school is Charles Hugo Primary in Durban. In order to thank them for their trust and allowing us to enter their space, we want to give them a monetary gift that will allow the students to buy new uniforms, particularly sweaters, as many students are not prepared for the winter that is soon approaching in South Africa. Every dollar counts, so we hope you can help us reach our goal of $3000 to provide for these kids!
